My most inspiring print maker is Kathe Kollowitz and my favourite piece of work from her is this piece of artwork right here. This is my favourite piece because the artist used some really interesting techniques. The marks that she has made draw your eyes into the corner of the page which makes the bottom corner of the page 
This is the start of a very lovely reflection Ruth. I wonder if the word you are looking for is emptiness. Although I do not want to encourage your inner dark side, I think you do enough of that already! :-)
